This, by far, is my most favorite quote ever said by my bias, Suga, during the speech that BTS gave to the graduates of 2020 when everyone was stuck at home due to the pandemic. It was such practical advice to give, especially since the pandemic and its effects were truly out of anybody’s control.
So when the ARMY Glow Up 2025 Project was announced by ARMY Connect PH, I immediately thought of ways I could get my hands on things I could change about myself, both long term and short term. I knew I wanted to look and feel better about myself, as I recognized that I was not disciplined about my health and my appearance while we waited for the world to open up in the two years we were all stuck at home.
Out of the seven ARMY Glow-Up Goals, I knew I wanted to start with Body Image, as this was a goal I knew I could do something about immediately, and part of Body Image is knowing how to protect and maintain my skin.
At my age, I am always on the lookout for great skincare that will match my needs and my non-negotiables. So when I heard about Habitude Lifestyle, I was super excited to try it out for myself. Habitude is proudly Philippine-made, environmentally friendly, cruelty-free, and is led by Women, for Women. How awesome is that? I was able to try two of their products for myself - the Habitude Go-Getter Moisture + Sun Stick and the Habitude Seriously Revitalizing Serum. I have been using it for more than a week now, and I completely understand why they are such best sellers.
I usually am not lazy about skincare - but only at night. During the day, I can be quite forgetful about putting on my skin necessities as I am always on-the-go, so the size of the Go-Getter Moisture + Sun Stick is so convenient for me! I leave it in my bag all the time so when I open my bag and see that it’s there, I remember to apply it right away!
Although the initial application may leave a white cast, it eventually completely blends into your skin once you massage it onto your face with your fingers. It is also not sticky, serves as a good base for makeup, and does not leave a heavy feeling on your skin even with all the layers. And since it is a physical sunscreen, there is no need to wait 20 minutes before being out and about in the sun! Perfect for those who have very busy days, and do not have a lot of time allotted for skincare during the day.
The second product I used was the Habitude Seriously Revitalizing Serum. It is so easy to blend it into your skin! I love no-fuss products, and this fits that description. I like how it doesn’t leave a sticky residue once it has dried on your skin, but still leaves your skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. This makes it perfect for day use. At night, I like pampering my skin with a lot of moisturizing products, and this serum seamlessly fits into my routine.
Apart from all the great things I have listed above, the bonus for both products is how they smell. They both have a light, “green” fragrance, reminiscent of lemongrass or bamboo, which instantly lifts my mood without it being too cloying.
Will this Tita buy this again? You bet. And since they are packaged beautifully, it would also be nice to give them as gifts to friends and family for the holidays!
