Skills-building is the process of acquiring and developing new competencies and abilities that are relevant and valuable for one’s personal and professional goals. Nurturing and strengthening skills learned from previous experiences are skills-building, too.
When we choose to continuously grow and improve our skills, we learn throughout life. This mindset of life-long learning and skills development allows us to cope with the changing demands and opportunities of the labor market, as well as enhance our personal and mental well-being.
The Skills Challenge
The members of BTS are all on active military duty. In more ways than one, they are learning new skills, though they are in a different environment, while fortifying the skills they have grown and developed from years of training and a decade of living the idol life. As ARMYs we can adapt the habit and attitude of learning and upskilling while waiting for 2025 and beyond.
The Skills goal is not only about acquiring technical expertise; it's also about unlocking untapped potential. It invites us to step outside of our comfort zones, explore uncharted territories, and discover new facets of our capabilities.
Setting Skills Goals
What personal goals can you work on under Skills? Here are some examples:
To gain courage to try something entirely new and different
To learn from and with other people
